"Kings of the Road" — Dramatic Shelbys at Watkins Glen

Inspired by meeting Carroll Shelby and seeing the Shelbys roar around the track at a Shelby convention in Watkins Glen, N.Y., in this watercolor painting, Michael chose to feature three legendary cars—the powerful ‘65, ‘68 and 1970 Shelby Mustang. Set against a winding mountain road, dominating the two lane blacktop, Shelby’s distinctive styling is captured in Michael’s creative use of reflective surfaces. 

 

In his renowned attention to technical accuracy and detail, Michael has included such attributes as the correct Good Year High Performance Blue Dot tires on the 1965 Shelby GT 350.
